After several requests following my "Easy Mini-Pizzas" post, here is the healthy, easy pizza crust recipe. This will make one medium pizza crust. Use the pizza sauce from the mini-pizza post for best results.
This crust is fast, easy and fun! Add 50% whole wheat flour to boost the flavor and health-factor. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
3/4 cups warm water
3 tsp. yeast
1 tsp. sugar
1 tbsp. oil
1/2 tsp. sugar
1-2 cups flour
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Combine warm water, yeast and sugar in a small bowl. Let stand 10 minutes. In a medium bowl, combine yeast mixture, oil, salt and 1 cup of the flour. Beat until smooth. Add enough flour to make a soft dough. Place dough in a lightly oiled bowl, turning once to coat top. Cover and let rise for 15 minutes. Place dough on pizza pan (I use a square stoneware pan,) pressing outwards to form a crust. Cover with pizza sauce and toppings of choice. Bake for 18-20 minutes.
